Alexandria, Va. – Today, Goodwin Living™, a not-for-profit, faith-based, senior living and health care services organization in the National Capital Region, announced that LeadingAge Virginia, the statewide association of not-for-profit aging services organizations serving residents and clients across the continuum, appointed Taneisha Hampton, Assisted Living and Memory Support Administrator at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads, to its Board of Directors. Hampton’s term begins on July 1, 2024, when she will join the LeadingAge Virginia board of 13 dedicated aging services professionals from throughout the state.

“It is a tremendous honor to be elected to the LeadingAge Virginia Board of Directors and to contribute to its mission of expanding the world of possibilities for aging,” said Hampton. “I look forward to bringing my experience in aging services, gerontology background, advocacy and diversity to the board as I continue to strive to achieve a shared vision of positive aging for every Virginian.”

“We are excited for Taneisha to join the board as we continue our important work on behalf of our members to expand the world of possibilities for aging,” said Melissa Andrews, President and CEO of LeadingAge Virginia.

Active in state and national senior living organizations, Hampton is a 2022 alum of the Larry Minnix LeadingAge National Leadership Academy, during which she developed and strengthened her leadership capacities learning how to leverage those capacities to have a greater impact in aging services. She is an active alum in the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Master of Science Department of Gerontology program and serves as a preceptor and mentor to future administrators. Earlier this year, Hampton was selected as VCU’s Alumni Gerontologist of The Year. She also serves as an alumni member on the Assisted Living Administrator Advisory Board, which provides guidance and expertise on best practices to faculty of the VCU Master of Gerontology program specialty area in Assisted Living Administration.

Hampton began her career in senior living and health care services at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads in 2016 and advanced to the role of Assisted Living and Memory support Administrator in 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Kentucky State University and a Master of Science in Gerontology from VCU. She is also a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
