For staff who wish to seek U.S. Citizenship, grants that pay for application fees are offered by the Goodwin Living Foundation.

Benefits Offered to Full-Time Team Members

  • Medical: We offer full-time team members a menu of health plans, with the flexibility to choose from five Kaiser Permanente and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. That way, everyone receives the coverage best suited to their family and health needs.
  • Dental: Our portfolio of dental plans gives full-time team members a choice about the level of care they need. Each plan covers three dental cleanings per year.
  • Short-Term and Long-term Disability: For full-time team members.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment: We offer this important security to our full-time team members without charge.
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA): We make it easy to build savings for family health emergencies by offering an FSA account; full-time team members can automatically save pre-tax dollars towards qualified expenses. FSA funds can be used to pay for everything from dependent care and insurance premiums to non-reimbursable medical expenses and eyeglasses.
  • Paid Holidays: For full-time team members, we offer seven paid public holidays and one floating holiday, so you can celebrate the events important to your family.

Benefits Offered to Full- and Part-Time Team Members

  • 401(k) Retirement Plan and Employer Discretionary Contribution: We help our team members plan for retirement by immediately matching their deferrals by up to 4%.
  • Tuition Assistance: Do you want to earn a degree or advance your training? We can help you grow and accomplish your life goals while remaining part of our family, so we help full-time and part-time team members who meet the eligibility requirements pay for additional education towards certificates and degrees. We provide in-house training and seminars to help you acquire the skills you need for advancement. We also offer student loan repayments for those in clinical positions.
  • Tutoring for ESL, Citizenship & GED*: Volunteer tutors will work with Goodwin Living staff on English language skills, preparation for the examination for U.S. Citizenship and studying for a GED.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): We offer a generous paid time off package. The number of days you can take off with pay depends on your years of service and your scheduled hours.
  • Support for DACA and U.S. Citizenship: Through the generosity of the donors to the Foundation, team members who have applied for U.S. Citizenship, Green Card status, work permit renewal and DACA renewal while full-time or part-time employees of Goodwin Living qualify to apply for a grant to pay for their application fee after a minimum of six months of employment.  Goodwin Living also assists team member’s family members with US Citizenship and DACA Renewal once they have met eligibility requirements.
  • Access to Earned Wages Prior to Pay Day*: Daily Pay allows GL employees to access earned wages before payday.
  • Staff Emergency Grants: Through the generosity of the donors to the Foundation, staff members are eligible to apply for confidential financial emergency assistance grants with the goal of assisting in diminishing severe emergency financial burdens on our staff members.
  • Fitness Center and Pool Access*: All Goodwin Living employees have access to the fitness centers at Goodwin House Alexandria (GHA) and Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads (GHBC). GHA employees may use the pool at GHA.
