Keeping Everyone Safe and Engaged

Goodwin Living is committed to healthy and engaged living for all residents, Goodwin Living At Home (GLAH) members and individuals served through our home and community-based programs throughout the coronavirus pandemic. This means keeping them safe from COVID-19 while also ensuring they have a robust quality of life – socially, cognitively, physically and emotionally.

For residents, staff, members and visitors, we maintain and update protocols that change as the situation evolves. We adjust our protocols based on current guidance from the departments of health for Alexandria, Fairfax and Virginia, the Centers for Disease Control, the Goodwin Living leadership team and our own medical directors.

Since March 2020, we have implemented more than 225 protocols in support of these goals.

Visiting Residents on Campus

As health departments allow, based on rates of positive COVID-19 cases in Northern Virginia, we welcome family and friends to visit their loved ones on campus at our Life Plan Communities. All visits must adhere to our protocols.

Learn more at our Campus Visits page.

Health Screening Protocols

Anyone who enters our communities receives a question-based health screening and has their temperature taken. This includes residents, staff, essential contractors, health care providers, Priority Club members preparing to move in and family and friends visiting residents.

A daily health screening is required for those who visit campus daily, including staff.
