Ten years ago, Rob Liebreich and his family noticed that his mother, Wendy, started repeating herself and struggling with her ability to focus. She was showing signs of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). As he was actively working in the field of senior living and healthcare at the time, Rob sought ways to treat the challenge. He was unable to find an existing program that was specific to MCI, so with help from colleagues and other experts, Rob and his family created their own. Today, this family-inspired innovation has evolved into the Goodwin Living StrongerMemory program. Through consistent use of StrongerMemory, Rob’s mother and others who have used this program have noticed improvement in their ability to focus, find misplaced items and remember conversations.
StrongerMemory by Goodwin Living provides a curriculum designed to stimulate the brain’s prefrontal cortex, which governs our ability to retrieve memories. The program encourages participants to spend just 20 to 30 minutes a day reading aloud, writing and quickly completing simple math problems.
The program is available in a workbook that contains 11 easy-to-use packets. You can download your own digital copy or purchase a printed copy that will be mailed to you. The price to purchase a copy covers only the costs of printing and mailing.
In addition to the workbook, we have six additional packets that were developed with help from those who’ve participated in the program since January, 2020. If you have already used the workbook and would enjoy more writing prompts and math problems, please contact StrongerMemory@goodwinliving.org.
