The Goodwin Living Foundation awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships to 86 students during fiscal year 2026, helping local students and the children and grandchildren of Goodwin Living team members pursue higher education and career goals.

Each summer, Goodwin Living opens its doors to the next generation of professionals through its internship program. Over the course of ten weeks, the interns benefit from opportunities to gain first-hand experience in the senior living and healthcare industry while developing practical skills in their field of study.

At some point, most of us will find ourselves trying to decide how and where we want to live as we age beyond 55. Home often represents the place where we find greatest comfort, familiar routines and meaningful memories. The alternative of moving to a senior living community means fewer household responsibilities, built-in social opportunities and access to care when we need it.

Many of you reading this article know that I celebrate the entire month of my birthday. I write special notes to myself, eat what I enjoy most and fill my calendar with special moments that I will spend with family and friends. I choose to celebrate because I understand the importance of being alive and having the opportunity to improve during my next trip around the sun.

When someone begins experiencing changes in memory or thinking, families may not know what kind of support would help most. They might feel like their loved one could use some supervision and support, while not being quite at the point where they need assisted living or memory care. That’s where the Thrive Social Day Program can help.

June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Every summer, people come together to celebrate diversity, acceptance and the important contributions LGBTQ+ people make to society. And every summer, Goodwin Living celebrates Pride throughout the month at our Senior Living Campuses, bringing residents and team members together to honor the occasion.
