Employee Programs

Goodwin Living excellence begins with employees who feel supported and have opportunities to thrive. Our mission is as much about team members as it is those we serve. Through gifts to the Staff Support Fund, we empower team members to grow professionally and personally, and in turn, they ensure the well-being of every member of our community.

One special program made possible by generous donors of our Staff Support Fund is the Goodwin Living Citizenship program, which offers team members grants to cover the costs of application fees to become a U.S. Citizen. The program launched in 2018, when resident Rita Siebenaler was inspired to find a way to come around team member who wanted to pursue their dreams of citizenship. In this video clip, she shares a bit of the story behind what inspired her to do this.

VOA (Voice of America) captured the incredible connections made through our citizenship program and our community of generosity at Goodwin Living.

In addition to our citizenship program, we offer educational support and grants for team members who face unexpected financial hardships. You can support these wonderful programs through a donation to the Goodwin Living Foundation. All gifts are fully tax-deductible under IRS regulations and may provide additional donor tax advantages.

Educational Programs

Educational Programs

Continuing education for Goodwin Living team members allows us to provide residents with the highest standard of care and quality of life possible. Thanks to generous support from donors, we are able to offer tuition assistance to team members who seek to advance their studies. The grants also include assistance with the costs of non-tuition related expenses such as parking, books, student fees and more.

Student Loan Repayment Grants are available for Goodwin Living team members in clinical positions to help pay student loan debt associated with completed programs.

Financial Emergency Support

Financial Emergency Support

When we realized the 2008 economic recession created financial burdens for many of our team members, we established a program inspired by the idea of “friends helping friends.” Today, the Foundation offers confidential financial emergency assistance grants for team members experiencing a personal crisis, significant hardship or catastrophic event.

Citizenship Application Fee Program

Citizenship Application Fee Program

Goodwin Living team members come from more than 65 different countries, and one in three team members do not yet hold U.S. citizenship. The cost to apply can be a large sum for someone who’s just starting out or supporting a family. We hope to provide our team members with more than just the security offered by a steady job. Citizenship brings a sense of belonging as well as a sense of security.

Founded in 2018, our Citizenship Application Fee program has already supported more than 200 team members and their family members by providing a grant that covers the full cost to apply.

In addition, thanks to the generous donors to the Goodwin Living Foundation, we also cover the cost of renewals for DACA, green card and work permits for team members and their family members.

Hear From Our Donors

“I have chosen to give to the Foundation because Goodwin Living is a family. I specifically give to the Staff Support Fund because I believe in the employees. They are incredible people from all over the world who have overcome so many difficulties. I have seen the Foundation help provide education to many who report to me who are single mothers, first-generation college students and individuals trying to better their family situation. I am grateful the Foundation empowers Goodwin Living employees to follow the principle: Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.”
— Josh Bagley, Goodwin Living Foundation donor & former Goodwin Living team member
