Resident Engagement at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads

Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads is blessed by the talents, life experiences and wisdom of its residents. Their voices are heard in all aspects of community life, from financial planning to flower arranging. Farther afield, Goodwin Living residents stay active in charitable, religious and not-for-profit programs across Northern Virginia. There is no pressure to get involved, though every opportunity to do so.

By helping others, we help ourselves. Studies have shown that older adults who volunteer report increased well-being and sociability. By volunteering in or outside Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads, residents benefit from these positive effects and leave a legacy for future generations.

Resident Councils & Committees

Residents bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their work on the councils and committees at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads. They don’t just talk shop. They provide recommendations for such diverse areas as building operations, dining services, finance and the fine arts.

Indeed, few of the things that make our community special would be possible without the participation of our talented, committed residents. They run the What-Not Shop, the library and many of our religious programs. They welcome newcomers, organize the holiday bazaar and present the annual Spring Fling. Whatever your gifts or interests, there is a role for you at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads.
