Alexandria, VA – This January, Goodwin House launched a partnership with a local Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Called “Cherry Blossom PACE”, this program will be located on Beauregard Street, just beyond Seminary Road, near Goodwin House Alexandria. It will provide services to older adults who live in Northern Virginia and can travel from their home to the center within an hour.
PACE programs provide a range of medical and social services to older adults living on their own, not within a senior living setting. The programs provide affordable, accessible care and services to those who need care and support but cannot afford to pay for it. Most PACE participants qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. Throughout the United States, PACE programs support older adults with rehab clinics, dentistry, home health therapy and other comprehensive medical and social services.
Thanks to this new partnership, Cherry Blossom PACE participants will receive catered by Goodwin House Alexandria Dining Services, while Goodwin House continues to provide the same quality of food and dining experiences to residents, members and guests in their Life Plan Communities.
“Our team is dedicated to providing the best medical care and management for our community’s seniors and other adults with complex, unmet health needs in a welcoming and safe environment,” said Bernie Loren, center manager of Cherry Blossom PACE. “Nutritious meals provided in a community setting is an integral part of this program. We look forward to working with Goodwin House in serving this population.”
Partnering with Cherry Blossom PACE program allows Goodwin House to meaningfully pursue a long-held vision to ‘expand the ways and places we serve older adults. Goodwin House looks forward to continuing this exciting relationship with PACE to offer even more support however possible in the future.
Consistent with our mission to support, honor, and uplift the lives of older adults, being able to support the comprehensive care model that Cherry Blossom PACE offers is a real honor, and we look forward to all the good this service brings to the older adults of Northern Virginia,” said Rob Liebreich, CEO and President of Goodwin House
