At Goodwin House Alexandria, we strive for excellence, and nowhere is this more noticeable than in our kitchen and dining spaces. We always aim to prepare delicious meals for residents, and our holistic approach to health and well-being means we value the importance of a healthy diet.
We serve a variety of dishes daily, so whether you fancy a hearty homemade chili, a chopped apple salad with pomegranate vinaigrette, or our ever-popular salmon special of the week, we’re confident you’ll always find something you love.
In our elegant formal dining room, The Alexandria, we offer a set menu (served to your table), and wine nights where you can bring your own bottle or buy wine tickets.
If you prefer a laid-back, à la carte dining experience, you can enjoy made-to-order pizza, deli sandwiches and specialty burgers in our relaxing Bistro. Breakfast choices range from a cereal station and breakfast bar (featuring yogurt, granola and seasonal fruits) to healthy wraps and comfort food like pancakes and French toast.
The cozy Fillmore Lounge has a fireplace and full bar, plus outdoor seating for those sunny Northern Virginia days when you feel like eating alfresco.
Whenever we’re planning menus or looking for ways to make our dining experience even better, we consult with residents every step of the way. Derek Campbell, Executive Chef at Goodwin House Alexandria, loves receiving feedback: “Our mission statement is to honor and uplift the lives of older adults and those who care for them, and I try to do that every day by connecting with the residents throughout the entire community. I enjoy hearing their comments both positive and negative to get a better understanding of how I can continue to uplift them every day.”
