National and Local Recognitions Celebrate Goodwin Living’s Commitment to Innovation, Leadership and Improving the Lives of Older Adults
Alexandria, Va. — Today, Goodwin Living™, a faith-based, not-for-profit senior living and health care organization, announced that four team members have recently been acknowledged with prestigious awards spanning national industry honors to regional and local civic recognitions. These honors highlight the organization’s overarching commitment to talent development, community service and improving the lives of older adults and those who care for them.
Lisa Wallace, MBA, CPP, CGPP, Senior Director of Supply Chain at Goodwin Living, has been named a Top 50 Supply Chain & Procurement Professional by OnConferences. This national distinction was announced during the OnCon Virtual Summit and Awards held April 27–28. This peer-voted award honors finalists who have made significant impacts on their organizations and contributed to the advancement of the field through leadership and innovation. Since joining Goodwin Living in 2012, Wallace has been instrumental in optimizing its procurement strategies. Even while navigating global supply chain challenges, Wallace works to ensure the organization remains resilient and focused on the older adults it serves by equipping team members with the supplies and resources needed to deliver excellence.
“It is an incredible privilege to be recognized as an OnCon Icon Top 50 Supply Chain and Procurement Professional,” Wallace said. “Being recognized by my peers on a national level as one of the changemakers in supply chain is more than a personal achievement. It is also a testament to the incredible team that I lead and work with, who share my passion for the supply chain profession. Let this moment be a reminder to leaders in small-to medium-sized organizations: Size doesn’t matter. Keep learning, leading and rising!”
Kim Butler, Director of Life Enrichment at Goodwin House Alexandria (GHA), received the Lois Van Valkenburgh Excellence in Aging Award from the City of Alexandria Commission on Aging during a celebration on May 12, 2026. The award recognizes individuals who improve the lives of older adults through service and advocacy, and it carries the legacy of Lois Van Valkenburgh, a civic leader remembered for her dedication to making Alexandria a more supportive place for older adults to age with dignity. Butler joined GHA in 2020, serving on the pandemic front lines in dining services before her 2022 promotion to Director of Life Enrichment. Today, she continues to innovate resident programming and champion senior dignity, embodying the spirit of excellence this award recognizes.
“I am truly thankful and deeply honored to receive the Lois Van Valkenburgh Excellence Award from the City of Alexandria Commission on Aging,” Butler said. “Most of all, I am humbled. Serving the senior adult community isn’t something I do for a job; it’s something I feel called and committed to do. Older adults owe us nothing; we owe them everything. They are the thinkers, the creators, the ones who built the foundation for the lives we live today, without the tools and technology we rely on now. Each night, I think about what I can do differently to enrich a resident’s life tomorrow. Each morning, I wake up thinking about how I can make someone’s day special. It is a privilege to give back to a generation that has given so much to us, and I promise to continue honoring them through service, gratitude and commitment every day.”
Charity Ampong, Director of Clinical Services at Goodwin Living, was named Senior Provider of the Year by The Chamber Alexandria. Part of the 2026 Community Champion Honors, this award recognizes essential-service leaders who are making a meaningful impact across the city. Throughout her 30-year tenure with Goodwin Living, Ampong has served as a cornerstone of the organization’s clinical excellence, consistently delivering the highest standard of person-centered care to residents. Her leadership has been vital in navigating the complexities of modern healthcare while maintaining the compassionate, faith-based mission of Goodwin Living. Ampong was publicly honored at a ceremony on May 21, 2026.
“I am deeply grateful and truly honored to be the recipient of the 2026 Senior Provider of the Year award as part of The Chamber ALX’s Community Champions Honors,” Ampong said. “It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to serve others and do work that I love and find meaningful. This recognition is both humbling and inspiring, and it motivates me to continue striving to make an even greater impact. My goal remains to empower healthcare workers to deliver care more holistically, seeing each individual as a person, not simply a task to be completed. With nearly 20% of older adults age 65 and above needing at least 1.5 years of long-term care, our nation needs more capable healthcare professionals in senior living. I am grateful to the Alexandria Chamber for lifting up our field for the important role we play now and in the future for older adults.”
Andy Siegel, Chief Business Development Officer and Head of Goodwin Living Health, has been selected for The Chamber Alexandria’s “40 under 40” awards. This region-wide program honors 40 rising leaders under the age of 40 who are advancing positive outcomes in Alexandria’s business community. Since joining Goodwin Living in 2018, Siegel has scaled the organization’s specialized healthcare services from caring for 500 to 3,900 older adults annually. A champion for health equity, he has spearheaded fitness and wellness partnerships for low-income and immigrant senior populations across Alexandria. Siegel will be recognized at a celebration on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Alexandria Chamber alongside so many other professionals doing such extraordinary things in the world around us,” said Siegel. “Goodwin Living continues to set the standard as the region’s leading place to both provide and receive care. It is a true privilege to be part of an organization so deeply committed to its mission—one that brings a constant sense of urgency and purpose to expanding access to care, serving more people, and making a meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of those we serve today – and those we seek to serve tomorrow.”
