Goodwin Living™ Appoints Andrew Cretal Managing Director of Real Estate Development

Andrew Cretal

Alexandria, Va. – Goodwin Living™, a faith-based, not-for-profit, senior living and health care services organization in the National Capital Region, announced today that Andrew Cretal has been appointed to serve as Managing Director of Real Estate Development. In this role, Cretal will have responsibility for the oversight and implementation of strategic planning for the real estate assets of Goodwin Living, which includes reinvestment in existing senior living campuses and future development projects.

“We are excited to welcome Andrew to the Goodwin Living family,” said Rob Liebreich, President & CEO. “Following a national search, Andrew stood out for his ability to navigate complex real estate matters with a focus on building meaningful relationships within the broader National Capital Region. As we continue to grow our service to more older adults in the region, his knowhow will greatly enhance the ways we support current and future residents on our senior living campuses.”

Goodwin Living currently owns and operates three senior living communities, Goodwin House Alexandria, Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads and The View Alexandria. In 2023, Goodwin Living completed the purchase of a parcel of land in Loudoun County, which is the anticipated site of a future Goodwin Living campus. Bringing real estate redevelopment and development expertise in-house will equip Goodwin Living to undertake more site analysis, financial modeling, reinvestment knowledge and risk mitigation of its current campuses and greater insight into future mission growth opportunities.

“I am thrilled to be joining Goodwin Living, which has a tremendous reputation for operational excellence of its senior living communities and health care services,” said Cretal. “I also am grateful for the opportunity to help Goodwin Living continue to reinvest in its existing senior living campuses and enhance our ability to serve a wider range of older adults in the future.”

With over 24 years of success in the acquisition and development of institutional real estate, Cretal has experience directing all aspects of real estate transactions and the development of multi-family communities. He recently served as the Senior Vice President for ZOM Living in McLean, Va. and currently serves as co-chair for the Housing Local Product Council at the Urban Land Institute. He is a member of the National Multi Housing Council and a Regional Advisory Committee Member at Apartment Life. Cretal holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri.
