Alexandria, Va. — In recognition of Fall Prevention Awareness Month, Enhance®Fitness and StrongerMemory partnered together to launch their program: Moving with Strength, Living with Purpose. This joint program supports the healthy aging of older adults and reduces fall risk by highlighting the vital connection between physical activity and cognitive health.
EnhanceFitness is a federally designated fall prevention program dedicated to helping older adults build strength, balance, endurance, flexibility and foster the confidence needed to remain independent and active. Their inclusive and low-cost group exercise program provides the physical foundation for Moving with Strength, Living with Purpose, offering accessible classes two to three times a week. The StrongerMemory program complements aims to strengthen brain health through daily cognitive exercises: 20 to 30 minutes a day of reading aloud, journaling and simple math. StrongerMemory was founded at Goodwin Living by CEO Rob Liebreich in response to his mother’s early memory loss.
“StrongerMemory started as a deeply personal effort to preserve one person’s memory and independence. Today, it’s become a shared movement that empowers thousands of older adults to stay mentally strong, proving that healthy aging begins with both body and brain.”
Fourteen years later, StrongerMemory is a widely adopted, free resource that supports older adults worldwide.
To celebrate their shared mission, EnhanceFitness and StrongerMemory are launching a curated set of fall-themed brain health activities, including reading selections, writing prompts, and quick arithmetic exercises. Resources are available via email at StrongerMemory@GoodwinLiving.org
