Chapman Brings Deep Senior Living Leadership Experience to the Role
Washington, D.C. – Today, Goodwin Living™, a faith-based, not-for-profit senior living and health care services organization in the National Capital Region, announced that Rita Chapman has been selected as the new executive director of Forest Hills of DC by Goodwin Living, effective April 13, 2026.
As the longest-serving faith-based, not-for-profit senior living organization in Washington, D.C., Forest Hills of DC offers assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing to more than 100 older adults and features on-site rehab services provided by Goodwin Rehabilitation.
As part of a nationwide search, Chapman was selected for her proven ability to increase resident experiences and satisfaction while concurrently improving business operations, financial strength and employment growth and development. She comes to Forest Hills with more than two decades of leadership experience across assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing settings throughout the region.
“Several of Rita’s attributes emerged during the hiring process and led to her selection. She has consistently demonstrated a passion and skill in managing and overseeing implementation of daily operations while balancing high quality care and resident service with effective financial stewardship,” said Chandra Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of Goodwin Living. “She also has extensive experience leveraging strong team leadership and the ability to develop solutions, solve operational problems and enhance resident and team member satisfaction.”

Chapman has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 2002 and served as Executive Director for Tribute Senior Living in Bowie, Md., Arbor Terrace in Lanham, Md., and Morningside House of Laurel in Laurel, Md. Chapman also served for a decade at the Collington continuing care retirement community in Maryland with the majority of her time in Health Services Administration, ultimately serving as Health Services Administrator. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in health care administration from Washington Adventist University.
