Goodwin House Incorporated Selects Senior Living Executive Robert Liebreich as New President and CEO

Robert Liebreich

Alexandria, VA – The Board of Trustees of Goodwin House Incorporated (GHI) is delighted to announce the selection of Robert “Rob” Liebreich as President and Chief Executive Officer to succeed Kathy Anderson, who is retiring after 17 years of extraordinary service. Anderson has led GHI to a place of significant financial and organizational strength and a reputation for excellence and innovation in senior living and care.

Liebreich’s selection is the result of a six-month national search for an executive dedicated to the Goodwin House mission of supporting, honoring and uplifting the lives of older adults and the people who care for them, while furthering the entrepreneurial drive and empathetic spirit of the organization. He will begin his new role on July 1, 2019.

“It was my honor to work with an outstanding committee of Trustees on the search effort,” said David Canfield, GHI Board Trustee, CEO Search Committee Chair and Shareholder, Bean, Kinney & Korman. “I couldn’t be more pleased with Rob having emerged from the process as exactly the energetic, compassionate and imaginative candidate we were seeking.”

Rob Liebreich will join GHI as President and CEO on July 1

“I am very excited and energized for the chance to serve Goodwin House Incorporated,” said Liebreich. “The organization has a wonderful reputation of living its mission and being an innovator, and I see a bright future ahead.”

Liebreich brings nearly two decades of senior living experience to GHI and is currently executive director for the 13th largest Continuing Care Retirement Community in the United States, Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, MD. He has held senior positions in marketing and operations, in both the local Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area and the Pacific Northwest. Prior to joining Asbury Methodist Village, Liebreich served as regional general manager for Aegis Living and start-up manager for Aegis on Madison in Seattle, WA.

Before joining Aegis Living, Liebreich served as the executive director of Skyline at First Hill, a high-rise continuing lifestyle community in Seattle that included independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. Liebreich also has served as the associate executive director for Oak Crest Village, a not-for-profit community in Parkville, MD, where he helped manage a team of 1,170 employees serving more than 2,150 residents. Before entering the senior care industry, Liebreich worked as a project manager for various telecommunication companies.

Liebreich holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and International Business and Marketing from Georgetown University and an MBA in Senior Care and Housing from Johns Hopkins University.

“What a privilege it has been to serve with Kathy Anderson, who has demonstrated unfailing dedication to the mission of Goodwin House and visionary leadership in expanding our horizons,” said Mary L. Hix, GHI Board Chair and retired Vice President for Finance and Administration, Virginia Theological Seminary. “Goodwin House now welcomes what promises to be a bold, exciting future with Rob as our incoming president and CEO.”
