TEAM MEMBER STORIES

What our team members have to say

  • “For employees, Goodwin Living is a place to grow. The tuition assistance program shows Goodwin Living cares about my growth. I was able to use the benefit for RMA training, and when I received my license, they hired me as an RMA. This really helped me improve my skills for the benefit of the residents. Goodwin Living encourages us to grow and learn and reach our full potential, which improves the overall quality of care we provide. I really appreciate it.”

CITIZENSHIP SUPPORT

Seeking employees seeking a better life

Our unique program attracts potential team members by helping their dreams of U.S. citizenship come true.

With the U.S. facing a healthcare staffing crisis, we set out to find a solution. A Goodwin Living resident came up with an idea that proved transformational.

In 2018, resident Rita Siebenaler recognized that it took team members several years and multiple jobs to acquire the money for citizen application fees. She convinced the Goodwin Living Foundation to underwrite those fees and at the same time, suggested residents and team members offer tutoring to prepare applicants for the required civics test. Today, the Goodwin Living Citizenship Program has expanded to organizations across the country, from faith-based not-for-profits to private and public companies. What began as one resident’s vision grew to a life-changing initiative truly powered by purpose.

Goodwin Living U.S. citizenship stories

Throughout our organization, you will find stories of immigrants who came here seeking a better life. Here are just a few.

  • “I would not be able to pay for my citizenship application fee because of all my responsibilities, bills to support myself and the money I send back to family in Sierra Leone. It would have taken me another two years to save enough money for the application fee. had tears in my eyes when I found out that Goodwin Living would pay for my citizenship application. I immediately called my dad who is in Sierra Leone and both of us were very excited.”
