We believe older adults should be able to thrive and pursue purpose wherever they live and at every stage in life. That’s why we offer our broad range of services:

• Two Life Plan Communities – Goodwin House Alexandria and Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads
• An independent, assisted living and long-term care community offering a value-based rental option – The View Alexandria
• A continuing care at home program – Goodwin Living At Home, which supports older adults who reside in Virginia and the District of Columbia and wish to live out their days in their home
• Medicare-certified Goodwin Home Health serving older adults in Northern Virginia
• Goodwin Hospice, bringing a not-for-profit mission to hospice services, with top-rankings for best-in-care service to patients and their families
• StrongerMemory brain health programming available to older adults nationwide

The Ways We Give Back

Wherever and whenever we can, Goodwin Living works to improve resources and experiences for those ages 55 and better so they can thrive. To this end, we offer many innovative services and initiate partnerships that build the support network for older adults:

• Goodwin Living Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) trains clergy of all faiths to support the spiritual journeys of older adults. Goodwin Living is among only seven senior living communities in the U.S. that offer a professional Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
• Academic internships and hospital and nursing program partnerships that grow the talent pipeline for the field of aging services. We have education alliances with six major universities and colleges: George Washington University, Georgetown University, University of Maryland Global Campus, Northern Virginia Community College, Marymount University and George Mason University.
• Brain health and dementia training programs that nurture dementia-friendly communities. We’ve hosted dementia training for law enforcement, airport personnel, faith-based organizations and more. Why? Because it is our mission to serve and uplift all seniors. Most recently, we have introduced StrongerMemory to senior service organizations across the country at no cost through donations to the Goodwin Living Foundation.
• Best Practice Sharing: Whenever we develop a program that works, we share it with other organizations through playbooks such as our Citizenship Program playbook, a template for helping immigrant employees gain their U.S. citizenship. In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we developed a COVID-19 Playbook to help other organizations benefit from our protocols and practices to stay safe.
• Goodwin Living Foundation: The Goodwin Living Foundation seeks and celebrates generosity in order to find solutions for the biggest issues facing older adults today. This includes providing vital funding for residents and team members in need. If you’d like to learn more, click here.
